Taylor is better, she can actually hold a high note a couple of times. Her work in general is not vocally challenging, so she doesn't have many cringe moments. Katy, on the other hand, sings lots of songs well outside her range and she has a lot of surprisingly challenging ballads, meaning that her bad vocal moments are many and varied. I've heard enough awful renditions of Firework to last a lifetime. I have no idea why she insists on performing it whenever she gets the chance to this day. I know it went #1 but that was 7 years ago, she's murdered it many times since and should just sing it on tour for her fans at this point. Unconditionally would come a close second in the amount of bad performances and then maybe Bon Appetit. She's simply not a natural vocalist. Her voice is designed for cute, quirky, indie songs. It's the only time her voice has been remotely appealing when singing live. She should stick to what she does best and save the big power ballads for the ones who are naturally gifted and trained at this kind of thing. If she really wants to do these songs, she should invest in proper vocal lessons, which she clearly isn't doing.

Do you think Taylor could successful deliver a song like Unconditionally live? I’m not sure she has the pipes to do it tbh.

Totally agree about Katy oftentimes singing songs outside of her range.

I think I'll go with Taylor. She sounded good on that Jimmy Fallon performance and other acoustic performanes. Katy sounds bad in everything to my ears.

Have you heard Katy singing Unconditionally at the X Factor? It sounded like ten cats were tortured.

^^^^ this

That performance is the reason why I picked Katy over Taylor. I have never heard Taylor Swift sing and thought “that sounded nice”. No shade:sweat:

No shade detected

It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke!

Irrelevant

Katy, her vocals have been surprisingly decent/good at the Witness Tour.

We'll see how Taylors vocals go with more live performances I guess :selena:
