I think the problem with both it's their lack of technique, they don't know hoe to breath properly. Over that, Taylor is the better singer

... and now i just sit in silence.

anyone have any good Taylor and Katy performances for me to view prior to deciding? I honestly havent seen much of their live performances to make an accurate vote.

As much as i love Gaga, I like Taylor's voice better for piano ballad. That New Year's Day performance was beautiful. You don't have to scream to trigger people's emotion.

Both are not great at singing.  Taylor is a bit better.  She can sing pretty good as long as the song doesn't have powerful notes.  I just don't like the way Katy sounds as a live singer.  I respect her though for at least putting the effort for her fans.

Katy can deliver better vocals and is a better singer. Taylor usually tries really hard at the piano to sound good so she's not far behind katy

Taylor is better, she can actually hold a high note a couple of times. Her work in general is not vocally challenging, so she doesn't have many cringe moments. Katy, on the other hand, sings lots of songs well outside her range and she has a lot of surprisingly challenging ballads, meaning that her bad vocal moments are many and varied. I've heard enough awful renditions of Firework to last a lifetime. I have no idea why she insists on performing it whenever she gets the chance to this day. I know it went #1 but that was 7 years ago, she's murdered it many times since and should just sing it on tour for her fans at this point. Unconditionally would come a close second in the amount of bad performances and then maybe Bon Appetit. She's simply not a natural vocalist. Her voice is designed for cute, quirky, indie songs. It's the only time her voice has been remotely appealing when singing live. She should stick to what she does best and save the big power ballads for the ones who are naturally gifted and trained at this kind of thing. If she really wants to do these songs, she should invest in proper vocal lessons, which she clearly isn't doing.
