If you want to defend someone, defend the victims. Stand up for them and make sure they're as well and safe as they can be. These men hid these secrets for all these years and they've been able to become some of Hollywood's biggest names.

Yeah, why don't we re-introduce the death penalty and kill them all? You guys can be such extremists it's appaling. Please try to understand that there is nothing conscious in hurting others. At some point of their development something has gone terribly wrong. Their mind doesn't function properly to consciously categorize their actions as malevolent. They often lack empathy and critical thinking. It is not a choice to act like a monster. They're at the very least mental disorder individuals. So no, no one is trying to imply these men are saints and should go back to their criminal lives, no one is indifferent towards the victims in all of this. Trust that I have a pretty good idea of who the victim is. Thinking these are sick individuals, that they need clinical help and that we should at least try to make them understand their actions so we can make our world a better place does not make anyone a bad person. If it doesn't work, then put them in jail and throw away the key, but looking at the world with such a black and white vision won't help either.

Firstly, I never implied that they should be put to death or anything. What I said was that I don't have much sympathy for people who do harm to other people, whether it be mentally, emotionally, physically, or spiritually. I am also one of the first people to stand up when it comes to any sort of mental disorder or any other 'imperfection' when it comes to someone's mentality and thought process.

That being said, I don't think these are subconscious problems. There are unfortunately many, many child molesters and predators, as well as those who commit sexual assault (to both women and men), in Hollywood. This isn't an isolated issue, it happens far more often than you would believe.

It's also, to some extent, an open secret. There are people in Hollywood who know about these things. This isn't some sort of mental disorder or disability that people like Weinstein have. They're sick people, and not sick as in "they need clinical help" sort of way. When you've got someone like Weinstein allegedly raping women, it's different from someone who has bipolar disorder, or someone who has schizophrenia.

You don't recover at that. You don't have a epiphany at age 50, 60, or 70 that sexual assault is wrong. That just doesn't happen.

He didn't defend them, he said that if they work hard enough to prove that they are truly sorry, they might still have a chance in the industry. He didn't say it'd be easy, or even give conditions. It's a hypothetical. This thread and its fake outcry is just a witch hunt.

Well I mean, he's right. Without rehabilitation, what kind of society are we living in? 

But that said, there also need to be examples of why this behaviour isn't okay. There needs to be lasting consequences to show other people that they can't just get away with their appalling actions. Decades of abuse of power can't be undone very quickly, and some just need to serve as a reminder.

I can see this being turned into a witch hunt against Cranston, which is unfortunate because it seems he's simply a compassionate guy with maybe a bit too much faith in people to be change their ways.

he says he wants us to accept their apology and give them a second chance, to be "the bigger people", which is not okay at all

But he did. He said that we should give them a second chance.

Now while I am a huge proponent of rehabilitation and rehabilitation programs, this is different. This is an open secret in Hollywood, people know about this, and people like Weinstein and Spacey were able to manipulate people and abuse people and not pay the repercussions for it.

Not here for this Pollyanna way of thinking for these two garbage human beings. They proved they don't deserve the benefit of the doubt. A decent person with an alcohol or drug problem who is only harming themselves? Sure. Sexual predators? No.

Spacey has been one of my favorite actors for years. I hope his family and friends give him a second chance if he puts in the work and changes his life. I am not his family or his friend... I will no longer support him with my time or money by watching anything he is cast in. Same for Weinstein. 

I'm not wishing for them to get the death penalty, but they committed crimes and terrorized women, men and teens. Both are millionaires. They should spend the rest of their life doing some good and in retirement.

I think he means well but it's not about forgiveness...these men have ruined people's lives emotionally, physically, and mentally FOR YEARS!!!

It's not a mistake if it happened once...so it was a practice. Worst of all, Weinstein has been exposed as threatening people  who want to still come forward. Does that sound like remorse? 

These people feel empowered and entitled for so long...what they need is therapy and HELP maybe even jail time for the raping
