He's simply pointing out what we all process when we decide if something is a moral issue. The fact of the matter is that people who are against homosexuality do think its conscious and it affects the well being of others. Don't get me wrong, it's not ineffective. Most humans, ignorant ones especially, don't like being told they are wrong. The best way to change someone's mind is to make it seem like it was their idea. It's like asking if a soap is moral or not.
