Most users (not all of them) doing that are the same people that hate on other successful artists, they just keep targeting different people depending on their current relevance. It happens to every trendy artist, Swift is the current one so she’s the target at the moment and it’s not the first time, same thing happened with her previous album cycle and guess what? that one was a massive success too. Also, Adele and most recently Fonsi/Yankee/Bieber with Despacito and any other artist that dares to be on top of the charts, really.

Theres is also this thing with the “like” feature. If you hate on someone you get lots of likes, some users notice that and they rapidly jump on the let’s hate on x artist trend, they think that’s cool and they want to fit in and get them likes.

I agree, I love PI video (not JW that much) and I don't even like LWYMMD, for me that video is just a long expensive private joke. It misses that timeless message that a good video has. Yes, lots of metaphors, but just about her. I don't get how it's pop culture defining (besides breaking a record). I don't like Joseph Kahn's videos with Taylor Swift. RFI video feels like an album opener and nothing else.

 

This is not about what's better or worse. The truth is, Taylor still cares about it. She has just started her pop career and has lots of ideas to develop. While Gaga stopped caring. She interrupted an album era to shoot a movie. That should tell us something about where her mind is. She released The Cure six months after the new album, a song that has nothing to do with Joanne and it's her most generic yet. Fans might say she doesn't need stunts anymore, but everyone would die for big music videos. People are mad at Taylor because they think a more talented pop star deserves the success she's having, but the truth is Gaga doesn't care about that. And it will make them hate others even more. Little Monsters have a hard time accepting Gaga. That's why whenever there's RedOne, new music, new video rumours, and when her song is #1 in a hundred countries the first 24h of its release, fans go crazy. They should know better by now and expecting different from Gaga.

I'm sorry, didn't want to generalize. I don't know your opinion about Taylor Swift anyway.

But most fans have a hard time accepting Gaga's place. They say Joanne is the best album of the year, but everytime rumours about RedOne come to life they go crazy. They say they don't care about charts, but everytime a new song is #1 in different countries for the first 23h they go crazy. They say Gaga does what she wants, and support her when she decides to not release music videos, or interrupt a whole music era to shoot a movie, or takes a long break, but then get mad at someone who is less talented but is trying harder than Gaga to get that #1. And then blame the public for their taste in music...

i think that's a little bit dramatic

if gaga didn't care, we wouldn't have The Cure nor would we have C2C or even Joanne, nor would she be in the studio right now plus the tour is her best yet and she's clearly passionate about it

i think you might need to rewatch 5F2 if you genuinely believe gaga doesn't care anymore

Ok, maybe wrong set of words, but Gaga doesn't care about the same stuff anymore.

The Cure, C2C, Joanne. Let's be honest, none of those things were irreverent for a pop artist like Gaga. There is clearly an attempt to built her status. And look, that's not a bad thing. It's just a different place. I just think fans need to accept that Gaga is not in the race for the next MJ or the next Queen of Pop anymore. And some fans still get butthurt when other "less-talented" artists are.

I don’t hate Taylor Swift. I doubt anyone on this site legitimately hates her.

I just think she is probably the most overhyped person in the industry. Her voice isn’t great. Her writing is at best tolerable. Moreover, as @Red said, I really don’t think she is a good person at all.

Taylor's videos are excessively relying on CGI. She isn't the next MJ, you know why? Because Gaga is already the next MJ. The thriller of this generation is 'Bad Romance'. Period. Those CGI-heavy videos don't really have substance, RFI is a good example of walking 30 seconds through a corridor singing. Symbolism much?

People say we here bash Taylor so much because of her success blah blah, why don't you really think why people dislike her? Maybe of other reasons? Maybe it's because people like you constantly thinking we are jealous but in fact we're very happy that Gaga is happily producing great music.

Gaga cares about her work, sure. But her work nowadays is not the type of work that lots of pop fans would hope for I think.

Adele is very much pop,thank you. She didn't win Best Pop Vocal Albums for nothing.

I don't try to defend Gaga is the next MJ. Because saying Swift is the next MJ is utterly ridiculous. The only pop artist currently who can produce MJ-standard videos is Gaga, her 7 VMAs and 1 Grammy for just ONE video proves that.

I'm not mad at others. I'm mad because you're saying Gaga isn't trying. She is every bit as passionate to her career as she was. Joanne was a personal moment for her, she didn't want to make it over the top for such an emotional album. 

The fact is, she is trying. She hasn't been trying to be the next thing because she is only trying to be herself. Gaga wants to stay true to herself as an artist, and whichever direction she takes, it doesn't mean she stopped trying. Not producing catchy bops and high budget videos don't mean she's not trying to deliver to her fans.

Before you make any conclusion, don't assume that she is not trying. She has gone through so much trauma. She is slowly recovering since ARTPOP. Let's await for what surprises she has because it's always an undefined possibility with Gaga.

I don't hate Taylor but I rebuke statements that simply aren't true. We can all respect each other but it isn't easy when everyone is simply just assuming things and attacking others. Some people hate on Taylor for no reason I agree they need to stop, but some just dislike her as a person or her music in general. Don't come to conclusions so fast.

A lot of us think she's not talented enough to warrant her success and dislike her personality. That's what it all comes down to. I want to see super talented, nice people get success, not artists who make generic music and are petty with a superiority complex. I literally don't know what so many people see in her. If the public are apparently as sexist as she claims, why would they have supported her at all? She's a woman, she makes bland music, she's petty. All the ingredients for a perfect person for the world to hate. Yet, she gets success after success. It utterly baffles me. Do I wish my faves were getting her level of success? Of course. But am I jealous overall? No. My faves are way talented and nicer. And myself? I can sing a lot better and I hope my new ventures into songwriting are improving. There's nothing to be jealous of when someone with such basic talent gets success.
