This album suffers a lot from weak and cliched lyrics. And many any of the songs have unimaginative melodies, and very repetitive phrases. Some times the repetitiveness works, and other times the repetitive lyrics make the songs sound long and boring. I think that the best thing about reputation is the production. The production is a mix of 1989 with more current trap and future house sounds. The production is not anything innovative, but it is full of textures and in general provide a great atmosphere for all songs. There are a few highlight tracks where production, lyrics, and melodies come together to provide great songs. These songs include I did Something Bad and Don't Blame Me. Other songs like Dancing With Our Hands Tied and Look What You Made Me Do lack lyrical quality but still manage to be enjoyable because of their catchyness, character, and production. As a whole Reputation is an album that is meant to be very revealing and honest, but previous Taylor albums have done a much better job.
