Anyone else feeling this way about the new music?

DJWS did produce some good material. A few bops is okay, but I wanted Gaga to branch out and work with more producers.

It's not all about the song being a bop or whatever :selena:

I want this new record to be undeniably her best, unreachable quality. Like, I'm tired of BTW being my favorite album, I want something new that I'm going to call her best.

Now you've said this it makes me actually excited for her future albums for this to be a possibility! I do love Joanne but it isn't my favourite gaga album sonically. Although few of my favourite songs of hers are on joanne I'm looking forward to what' next :excited2:

The Garibay bops that we all love from Born This Way are mostly produced by DJWS alone, he was only credited for better commercial performance since DJWS was basically unknown back then. So that proves that you like DJWS’s work somehow. :gaysia:

didn't know that! cool! I think/hope we have a lot of bops to look forward to, then.

Anyone else who struggles to get hyped about the new music she's been working on lately knowing that it's produced by DJWS? :selena:

First and foremost, I wanted new people for her next album and so far it seems like DJWS will be the main producer of LG6. I wanted something fresh, bringing in producers she has never worked with. Stuart Price, Max Martin, Nile, Moroder... That said, even if she worked with some of her ex-collaborators/producers, Paul is definitely the last one I'd want. I'd rather have Garibay, RedOne, BloodPop, Darkchild....

Last time he was the main producer of her album was with ARTPOP and it's still her weakest album for me (Before, Little ARTPOPsters attack me, I like the album, listen to it, but compared to her other albums, it's fails to reach their excellence). I don't think he has produced her any memorable tune as well or something that stands out in her catalog. I know there's always 'another chance',  but he failed to do that plenty pf times.

As a side note, Bloody Mary is one of my favorite songs, but I don't think an experimental album like that is what I'm looking for from LG6.

Anyone? :selena:

Oriane

Yes but not for the same reasons. I liked that she finally took an "authentic" route with Joanne. I was expecting more for her next albums, I wanted her to move forward, not backwards. Bad Romance 2.0, dark pop like her first hits, commercial pop, autotune ? No thanks, she struggled to get out of there, we need something different now, a real artistic achievement. And is it sounds like anything like The Cure... :madge:

Born To Slay

Reading she's working with DJWS makes me more hyped. It means she'll bring the bops on the next album. I also really love his previous work with Gaga on BTW and AP. The Cure is a masterpiece and if he can bring songs with that level of commercial appeal while making them Gaga, I think we should be excited.

I have mixed opinions on it.

I think his work with Gaga on BTW is absolutely incredible- the songs they worked on together are masterpieces in her catalogue (the album itself is a masterpiece in her catalogue). However, his work with Gaga on ARTPOP is very hit or miss, but that could also be because of Gaga's headspace at the time, rushed management, etc. The Cure is fun, and the production is clean as hell, but it was weird to have that kind of music after Joanne.

I'm excited for new music, and I think DJWS is a sweet and talented man. However, I would love if Gaga branched out more. Hell, a Gaga x DJWS x RedOne song, for old times' sake? Or DJWS working on certain stems and tones, like BloodPop? All could be interesting combinations.

3 points in and ready for more
