there are lots of translators here in this city whose job it is to translate slogans, papers, etc. Under some conditions, there can even be a translation be provided for free. Lady Gaga would have only needed to ask the city council and they would have allowed her to get a translation for free.

Oh wow I’m so sorry Gaga didn’t have time to go translate five words just to please you :sharon:

During the show she just wanted the camera's to take a shot of the flag, instead they insisted she took it from them...

A translation for a FAN CREATION?

You are clearly trolling because you are explicitly ignoring the fact that someone gave her the flag.

Was she supposed to use her Miss Cleo powers to predict that this fan was going to make a flag with her song lyrics on it?

i hope she kept that flag and mails it to your house.

Theres a few threads that spring to mind. This takes the cake.

I remember somebody asked Gaga to apologize to Lady Starlight because she isn’t opening this tour again :poot:

She picked it up DURING the show. Do you want her to leave the arena and translate it then come back?

@Louvre I can’t at you complaining that an English speaking, American artist went to foreign country and didn’t bother to speak half her English-languages show in French.

Thats like me saying I’m pissed that Despacito wasn’t in English  :selena:

If the English language is so evil to you, how do you even listen to Gaga when you technically wouldn’t be able to understand 90% of what she is saying?

The English language per se is not evil, it becomes evil onces it comes in an imperial form and displaces other languages. Science, technology and pop culture all contribute to that. My liking of Lady Gaga contributes to this, too, and that's why it is so extremely important that the other side - the US-Americans and British artists - that they show respect for non-anglophone cultures that are being endangered by English. It's is nowdays impossible to get a job without knowing English in Montréal and downtown has become so heavily anglicized, that it is worrying. We make it convenient for Lady Gaga to come. Speakin English to her in Hotels. Serve her in English. She does not have to learn any other language. This is why we expect and demand a minimum respect for our very weak language, too. We make a favor to the English language...she could have reciprocated it. By not doing it, she makes it seem natural that everything can and has to be done in English

I'm looking gorgeous tonight

McScuse me bitch? You want to talk about being offensive? Promote your own Francophile culture if you want, there’s no reason to piss on anyone else’s parade.

Get over yourself.

Hello.

I saw this post and I am deeply offended by this.

Why?

Because Lady Gaga displayed a flag that was handed to her by a fan, and you chose to make a thread about something you bothered to do no research on, pretending that she herself made the flag.

With this message, you neglected to promote online kindness and use the power of the internet.

Hotel workers in Canada did not run out and learn the English language in order to understand Gaga during her room service order.

You are reaching so far I’m surprised your arms don’t hurt.
