OMG! I love you Miranda. Thriller is one of my favorite videos ever. You change the music industry.

This is better than Gorgeous but still not on the same level as her first 2 songs. It's all a bit meh. And she's still got a big ego problem with her lyrics - talking about her castle crumbling and saying "they took the crown," saying all the liars are calling her one, that the "drama queens are taking swings" and "the jokers dressing up as kings." I mean, girl, get over yourself. She and her fans seriously wonder why she gets so much hate? She's literally calling herself a queen and calling the people who exposed her liars. It's funny how she can write this and then go on to be self critical by saying stuff like "I know I make the same mistakes every time, bridges burn, I never learn." How you be so big-headed one minute and then so humble the next? It's just not consistent and comes across as insincere. The line "making forts out of sheets" reminds me of the line in Teenage Dream: "We went to Cali and made a fort out of sheets." She's copying her enemies now! And she's "laughing with her lover" and "trusts him like a brother?" Ewwww. Who told her that line was acceptable to keep? A good songwriter would have known to change that and a good team would have stepped in if they couldn't see that. Lines like this only serve to prove that Taylor is indeed surrounded by yes men who never question her. And it's also proof that she's still so juvenile with her relationships. No grown woman compares her lover to her brother unless she's one of those sisters. All this is going to be so embarrassing when she inevitably breaks up with this guy. She's really fallen for him hard if the last 3 songs about him are anything to go by. This is probably the most besotted she's ever been with a guy in a song and it's going to look so bad when they break up. Let's not pretend that it's not going to happen. Her fans thought Calvin would last forever and look how that turned out. As long as she continues to be a workaholic and flying all over the world (Joe doesn't even live in her home country), she's never going to keep these guys. Never mind the rest of her personality.

She says she "trusts" him like a brother, not "loves". Please listen carefully if you're going to spend so much time crafting these pitifully long responses.

Also, please link me to the article that proves that Katy Perry invented blanket forts.

I know she says "trusts" not "loves," that was just a mix up typo, I'll fix it. But that still doesn't make it any better. You don't say your lover is like your brother in any way. I'm an only child but even I know that saying your partner is the least bit similar to any relative is a big no no. I remember I once heard that Emma Watson was asked if she ever had romantic feelings for Daniel and Rupert when she did all those Harry Potter movies with them and she said no because they're like brothers to her and therefore, kissing them would be like kissing her brother, which would feel very wrong. See what I mean? If a guy reminds you of your brother in any way, it just feels creepy. Other people have picked up on this as well.

Katy didn't invent fort covers but can you give me an example of the same lyric other than this? The point is, this is the line that jumped right to mind, it's basically the same lyrics. Is there really any defending this?

And pitifully long responses? Please. Wouldn't you rather a long, detailed response of why I dislike a song as opposed to a one liner that says "this sucks"? Whenever someone does that, they're always asked to show some intelligence and give reasons.

River

I'm really trying to like a song of this new era but it's impossible.. there is a lack of soul in the songs.. like she's not giving 100% of herself in this album.. like she's just angry and wants to fight back..

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

Yeah, there are several fanbases that can be insufferable, but of course, whoever's current era it is will be the worst, especially if they're in competition with another big name. I think Taylor fans have been so used to her getting praise her entire career that some valid criticism makes them want to blow a gasket. There's a sense of injustice because she's not being universally liked as usual and of course, to them, the critics are always right. Which is why they can be so rude to non-fans and act like they know nothing and ask them what credentials they have to make this criticism. But I mean, when an artist specialises in petty bashing and has a major superiority complex, would you expect anything less from their fans?

**"Baby, why do we love each other?"
I said, "Honey, it's simple
It's the way that you love and treat your mother."**

Like it’s not the EXACT same but it’s in the same vein that you criticize Taylor :toofunny: I’m not a “swiftie” either.
