StrawberryBlond 14,891 Posted November 2, 2017 Share Posted November 2, 2017 It's going to be interesting to see how this album goes considering that we've yet to see how a sophomore album from a 1D member fares. He doesn't have anywhere near the same level of hype this time, nor a hit anywhere close to Pillowtalk. Dusk Till Dawn charted in top 10 all over the world and its music video is blowing up, yet its sales really weren't up to much. It seemed to have a great start, then just fizzled out. I don't even know if that Still Got Time song was even a proper single. I think the fact that he doesn't want to promote and tour is going to really impact him negatively from here on out. I don't even think he's genuinely withdrawing because of anxiety. Speaking as someone with anxiety, it makes you not want to do anything (including creating and releasing music) or go out anywhere. And Zayn's never stopped releasing something or collabing with someone, he's on fashion front rows, he does magazine interviews like this one (not to mention cheating on Perrie with numerous girls, but let's not get started on that one). Artists with genuine anxiety hide away and rarely release. I think he's just a bit sullen and apathetic, really. He just wants to get fame and success without trying hard, wanting to enjoy the fruits that success brings (money, famous girlfriend, iconography and glory) without putting in the hard work for it. Let's face it, he didn't quit the band halfway through their tour because he was stressed, like how he initially claimed, he just wanted out of the band and didn't care about the fans he let down. He said he wanted to "live life like a normal 22 year old," when he quit...and then proceeded to immediately release his own music and continue living like a celebrity. Yeah, celebrities like to exaggerate conditions, just like when Sia said that she didn't like to show her face due to extreme social anxiety, despite showing her face many times afterwards. They tell us they have these conditions to make us feel sorry for them, when in reality, it's just so irritating to hear for those who genuinely have these conditions.
