News first emerged the two were dating back in February when they were spotted kissing before her performance during the Super Bowl LI halftime show. Now, according to the tabloid, Carino recently asked the singer’s father for permission to marry her and he was given the go-ahead. The magazine then nebulously asserts the couple won’t be planning a wedding anytime soon, due to her health issues. As Gossip Cop reported, Gaga canceled a scheduled concert in Rio in September after becoming ill. A few days later, she announced that the European leg of her “Joanne World Tour” would be postponed because of her struggle with fibromyalgia, a disorder that causes severe physical pain and fatigue. Curiously, the tabloid has absolutely no details about when Carino supposedly popped the question. Nor does the magazine furnish any information about where he proposed. Also glaringly missing is how Carino allegedly asked Lady Gaga to marry her. Did he give her a diamond ring or not? Us Weekly doesn’t have answers to any of those questions. And the reason is that Carino didn’t propose to the singer. Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Lady Gaga to get to the bottom of the outlet’s engagement claim, and we’re exclusively assured it’s simply “untrue.” The couple is very happy, and should they get engaged, Gossip Cop will report on it with a confirmation and details. We highly suggest other outlets similarly fact-check stories before regurgitating falsehoods. It should be noted, this isn’t the first time the magazine has wrongly reported that a couple would soon tie the knot. Back when Sean Penn and Charlize Theron were dating, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for speculating he proposed simply because the actress was spotted with a ring on her finger.
