craig 680
Just checked Billboard. Carly is #3 now! I'd thought she'd stay number one for 6+ weeks but I'm glad she's slowly dispersing. She's still #1 on Hot 100 and Digital Songs. She never was better than #2 on radio songs, Gotye is so strong. (Payphone has a slight lead now but they're peaking too). croon3y 3
Payphone needs to crawl into a hole and die I could not agree more. That song is so overplayed, and same with Call me Maybe. How the hell did that just go to number 1? I swear the radio is 2 months behind everyone else.
craig 680
Radio peaks are always about a month behind public excitement. Especially if a song if by an newby, the public has to really show demand and then radio will finally play it to death. Katy's can't challenge for #1 for a couple weeks - by then CMM and Payphone will be dying. The only thing that might stop Katy is a song like Whistle exploding. But don't route for that, cause then Florida will be MASSIVE when Gaga's new single drops. Edited July 7, 2012 by craig

La Rosalia 9,906
Really? Most people couldn't climb a mountain that big with their own legs. It's inspirational for people with disabilities and should be used for the Paraolympic games. Your comment is extremely insensitive in my opinion. craig 680
SI Video: We're supposed to be impressed that Spencer climbed a mountain, but once he built up the strength to walk on his arms I don't see how it was harder for him than anyone else. Hey guys, read carefully. Never denied that him building up arm strength was impressive, or said climbing a mountain was easy for anyone. Just with such strong arms, he's probably an ace at climbing a rope up a sheer precipice. Him having such a low centre of gravity might be an advantage in other climbing situations. In one scene the other climbers had poles to steady themselves, he didn't them. Edited July 7, 2012 by craig
Nagini 179
I had a dream last night that Pound The Alarm went #1 and was a huge smash Nicki will Beez dah new Queen of Pop!! It honestly pisses me off how she's going to release all of her pop hits produced by RecycleOne just to get more and more money. How about putting out a badass rap song instead of only caring about money? Tacky, in my opinion. It's understandable that she wants to explore pop music and that's alright too but it seriously irks me when she says she's a rapstar, when nowadays she's clearly thriving for a Top 10 hit. Sorry for the rant :P If the video for Pound the Alarm is good, I have a feeling it'll do pretty well. However, I think she needs to wait when Starships falls out of Top 10 radio first. Starships could possibly undermine PTA's airplay.

I'm sorry but your constant hate for Katy is annoying. There's no point in expressing it any further.

I swear the radio is 2 months behind everyone else. The radio is very slow moving compared to the digital charts, which can shift in an hour or two. A smash song will gain about 200 spins a day max. Depending on the conditions, it'll take about 12,000-13,000+ spins to reach the top of the chart. You do the math ;). Songs fall off the chart the same away. It'll lose anywhere between 50-300 spins a day until it's finally gone. For instance, Whistle is number 3 on iTunes right now and gaining. It's only 27 on Pop radio, though. The song is growing at a healthy rate so far, gaining ~100-200 spins a day I believe. It still needs about 12,000 spins to top the chart. Lets throw a number out there and pretend it'll gain 150 spins a day. It'll take about two months to top the radio at this rate. Radio peaks are always about a month behind public excitement. Especially if a song if by an newby, the public has to really show demand and then radio will finally play it to death. But don't route for that, cause then Florida will be MASSIVE when Gaga's new single drops. I don't think Whistle will stop her peak. Maybe it'll cut it short, but it seems to far out still. It'll probably knock Katy back down to #2 on iTunes, but it's way to far behind on the radio to challenge her on Billboard yet. so I guess Katy Perry is going to have a #1 album too......#4 on itunes. i hate this world right now. I think your right, since there is little chance of Whistle going viral like CMM nor any Flo movie coming out to boost it. It will rise slowly like Payphone. Arturo 40,746
It's okay as long as you never use that horrendous word in this sanctuary again On Topic - Hot 100: With its 20th week in the top 10, Starships matches the mark for most uninterrupted weeks for a song that bowed in the region. Starships has racked 1.3 billion cumulative audience impressions, according to Nielsen BDS, and has sold 3.2 million downloads in the US. I thought it's reign would let up with it falling digitally but that AI :deadbanana:
Tommymonster44 0
I'm glad that Starships is more successful than it appears to be at first glance. It really did well, it's been up on that top 10 for forever. It just didn't peak higher because all the mega-songs were always blocks it. It's disappointing peak was just bad luck.
