rumours 45,521 Posted October 25, 2017 Share Posted October 25, 2017 This last year (specifically New Years Eve) hasn’t been the best for Mariah Carey. Her last single flopped hard. Moreover, much of her backlash had stemmed from the quality (or lack there of) of her voice recently. However, I stumbled across snippets of this recent performance, and she sounds better than she has in a while (tone less nasal, better breath control, etc.)! migamiga 12,102 Posted October 25, 2017 Share Posted October 25, 2017 Up until nye i've been a hopeful and delusional lamb and believed she could still have one more (semi) successful era, but after that mess, the backlash, gp making fun of her voice, mgmt, constant touring, etc- i just dont see it happening anymore. I feel like with stella's current direction, they are just trying to highlight her legacy and not really adding anything new to it. Her branding has gone to sh*t and it makes her look like a desperate wannabe when she should just be trying to sell quality (which is what she always delivers). People have stopped paying attention because she's just become a shell of who she use to be (in their eyes). And not to sound ageist, but her age doesn't really help either. But I’m still Praying.mp3 Yeah I'm not ruling out a successful era cause of her age. But with the way she's acting/being presented, she's losing old fans and not gaining new ones. If Mariah tried harder and changed her recent attitude she could. I mean songs like I Don't are only a cell of the music she used to create esp bops like I Know What You want with Busta. I think that if she could do a 007 Soundtrack it would give her career the boost it needs, but I don't know if I can see that happening. Life ain't Hollywood for any one of us.
