Idk as much slayage as her videos get, I feel like she's trying to fit an aesthetic. Like for example Gaga's Joanne - although it is authentic and personal, her true talent lies in cinematic, choreographed videos, and as popular as Joanne could have gotten, Gaga won't be remembered for her Joanne image. Same with taylor - as badass as she wants to be this era, in the end we will remember her more for 1989/earlier visuals.

One of the outfits she's using reminds me of this one:

Her last one is visually pleasing but overall not a good video or anything to remember.

Wow go off but she's consenting to it, that's the whole point. And yes just a couple of years ago she was hoping people wouldn't even know whether or not she actually has a bellybutton. That was a genuine thing people wondered about because she just wouldn't show it. But then paparazzi caught her and she revealed it herself before they got to profit off of those pictures.

There is a sense of empowerment when you do it yourself because you want to. She's portraying an anime character in the music video apparently so why not try something out of her own comfort zone it's not like Gaga didn't appear in a documentary topless, Rihanna had several music videos with her tits out and Katy's entire career was based on being sexually appealing. That's just to name a few.

That's the answer I usually get - she's the one in control of the image, so it's fine. But I've never understood that mentality. If you don't want to display yourself naked, as Taylor has said before, then you won't make that choice. Obviously, when someone presents you like that without your consent, it's worse, but if you never wanted that for yourself, you'd never do it as some sort of "answer back." If you say you don't do nudity, you don't do it, it's that simple. Feminism gets a bit confused here. If she was that concerned about her bellybutton being seen, she wouldn't have done this. She's being contradictory and a hypocrite.

But she said she never wanted to do nudity, that's the point. Why change her mind now? Publicity? Attention? Notoriety? I've got no problem with Gaga, Rihanna, Katy, etc. doing nudity because they've never claimed to be against it. Taylor has. She's going back on her word.

And gaga said you would never see her without high heels. Yes she's likely doing this for attention but it has a deeper meaning than just to sell her nudity. It ties into the album theme. She played it safe her entire career and now people criticize her for doing the opposite

if it was anyone else you'd think it's pretty smart but it's that basic girl that no one thought would be come controversial or famous to this extent.

High heels isn't the same as nudity. Saying you won't do nudity has a bit more weight. I'm not averse to her taking risks but there's good risks and bad risks. She's risking her popularity and career by doing this.

She was modest about showing too much skin as a girl who was like 22 years old. She’s 27 now, and isn’t giving interviews so you’re basically speculating and assuming she can’t ever change her opinion or artistic direction. I think she is totally fine changing her image since everyone seems to hate on her anyways

I still don't think this is the second single though

If she's coming at us with a visual album I am deceased

I hope not , I'd love for her to keep the hype going with new videos in 2018 and possibly 2019 (if the music has longevity and demand)

Admit it Spock, you were doubting my thread about RFI being the second single and here we are :hor:
