The new streaming rule takes affect after that point (which will def create a shift in the genres that dominate. Pop could be set for a comeback) Anyway, the 2018 year begins on November 10th. So here we are. What songs will be at the top of the 2017 year end charts (out the first week of December)? Look for "Despacito" and "Shape of You" to battle for the #1 song of 2017. "Shape of You" spent 8 more weeks in the top 10 than "Despacito", but "Despacito" peaked at #1 longer than "Shape of You". Shape of You has also spent all 40 weeks in the Top 20, while Despacito has spent 26. MY guess is that "Shape of You" will get #1 and "Despacito" will get #2. The #3 song looks like it will be Bruno Mars' "That's What I Like". The song spent 21 weeks in the Top 10 and has been on the chart for 39 weeks.
