ViviLittleM 3
Gaga's impact No Gaga no record-breaking gross Goldenvoice's Coachella festival grossed $114.6 million in 2017, marking the first time a reoccurring festival franchise has crossed the $100 million mark for Billboard Boxscore. The top gross of all time still belongs to Goldenvoice's 2016 festival Desert Trip, which grossed a staggering $160 million over two weekends in October 2016. In May Goldenvoice's Paul Tollett told Billboard. "We're not doing Desert Trip this year. We loved 2016 Desert Trip -- that was a special moment in time. Maybe someday in the future we'll do something similar." That means the honor for highest-grossing Boxscore of all-time for a reoccurring festival continues to belong to Coachella, which has been recognized as the top festival of the year by Billboard Boxscore since 2011. The 2017 outing had an attendance uptick of about 52,000 people over the previous year, growing from 99,000 per weekend in 2016 (April 15-17 & 22-24) to 125,000 for this year's festival (April 14-16 & 21-23). Goldenvoice was able to boost attendance after receiving an approval by Indio, California officials to expand the footprint of the event held each year at the Empire Polo Club. Revenue for the festival has jumped seven-fold from a decade ago, when the 2007 gross was reported at $16 million with 62,000 over one weekend. When the festival expanded to two weekends in 2012, it reported a gross of $47.3 million and attendance of 158,387. It's continued to grow with a gross of $78.3 million in 2014, $84.3 million in 2015 and $94.2 million in 2016. http://www.billboard.com/articles/business/8005736/coachella-festival-2017-114-million-gross

edgy 6,918
I'm all here for a reach, but Coachella was sold out way before Gaga replaced Beyoncé, so if anything, isn't this Beyoncé's impact?

KingRedd 3,139
Beyoncé’s impact is strong. As well as the other acts that I’m sure have fans who came to see them as well. Beyoncé was huge though since she was in a very successful lemonade era in terms of popularity and performances May I Read You? 😎

Well thing with buying tickets for a festival of this size is that you don’t just suddenly decide to buy a ticket out of the blue. The price of the ticket is a fraction of the price of your overall weekend expenses so usually, unless you’re rich or a celebrity, you don’t just randomly decide to go. The line up was announced one day before tickets went on sale. Sure, people may have been thrilled to see Beyoncé on the line up but they most likely already intended on buying a ticket way before regardless if she were announced or not. Coachella is definitely one of the more popular festivals. It caters to a wide range of artists and it’s hip to go. Hell, there’s even an H&M collection for it lol.
