Alicia sure and Prince being out-shadowed by Michael yes, but I don't think I'd go as far as saying that Bey overshadows Prince. Not right now at least.

ok now look as much as I love P!nk, let's be reasonable here. She's never taken a risk in her career, she's follows trends and has got the talent to back it up unlike Britney, that's how she's been able to slay relevant for so long, and that's the tea

I have always thought of this and tbh I love P!nk for that, she's so talented and has the bops yet won't be in your face that much that she will annoy the **** out of you, yet she has her peaks as well.

I just hope the rest of her album doesn't sound like the lead single, but for everything else, gurl I see you

IDK about Britney or Xtine, but P!nk certainly still have a lot to offer, her drive is as good as the first time she come in to showbiz. And she have been consitent. And she didn’t overdo it. I believe she will be around for a long time. This makes me think about her song, My Vietnam which is really true, that she keep scoring each time.

I was literally just thinking these exact thoughts the other day. I remember back in the early 00's that Britney and Christina were the big names and even though P!nk was getting top 10 hits, she wasn't experiencing the success that the other 2 were, nor the publicity. And this truly did last throughout her career. During her I'm Not Dead era, she was getting hits but not like Fergie/Nelly/Gwen were getting at the time. During her funhouse era Gaga and Beyonce dominated. Her greatest hits album brought her 2 Top 2 hits, but this was during a time when Rihanna, Kesha, Adele, Gaga, Katy and Britney were excelling too and it made it hard for P!nk to stand out.

P!nk's The Turth About Love era is perhaps the first time that P!nk was able to stand out. The second half of 2012 to the second half of 2013 didn't have many pop girls out, it was really just Taylor, Rihanna and P!nk doing well. This era brought her 3 Top 10 songs, her first since Missundaztood. It also gave her the biggest song of 2013 by a female artist "Just Give Me A Reason". She was also chosen as the Woman of the Year in 2013 by Billboard.

 

So here's a lesson in slow and steady wins the race.

Just look what each of these are up to all these years later.

Oh come on, that is such an unfair dig at Xtina! She endures in her own way. Look at her Spotify counts. Without an album in 5 years, she has 9,880,343 monthly listeners--that's 1 million more than Britney (who's put out two albums since Xtina released Lotus) and only 200,000 less than Jennifer Lopez. 

But, I remember thinking this about P!nk throughout her career. Each of her albums have been certified Platinum at the very least. And she didn't get her first solo No. 1 until well into her career. Then again, when you look at Britney's chart performance, she wasn't exactly queen of the Billboard Hot 100, even in her prime. A lot of her most iconic songs didn't even go Top 5: "Oops! I Did It Again" charted at No. 9 with no RIAA certification, "Stronger" peaked at No. 11 with only a Gold certification, "I'm a Slave 4 U" only reached No. 27, "Toxic" hit No. 9, with the other singles charting roughly in that same region until "Womanizer" started a new chapter in Britney's career.

It just goes to show how much publicity and sensationalism goes into creating a pop star, because if Britney were judged solely by he chart performance during her empirical phase, she certainly wouldn't stack up as the icon that she's become.

That's debatable tbh Lemonade wasn't a big commercial mover or single success like her past albums. It did, however, work on streaming which is important. Honestly, I think her PR team is just really good to make the album seem bigger than it was. Beyoncé and P!nk are also older acts, which needs to be accounted for. The fact that she's competitive with them on touring levels, though, is pretty great. Beyoncé is a powerhouse of a touring force and so if Gaga can be competitive in that arena good for her. Tbh I think she just needs a few more decently sized hits (like MR) to be competitive as a legacy act. She really just needs better managed singles because she has the songs there, they just need to be chosen and promoted.

She literally changed her sound and image from Can't Take Me Home to Missundaztood because she wanted to be in control of her career. They pretty much told her it'd be a failure but they finally let her and look at how far she has gotten because of that.

Christina wanted that and that's why she called Linda Perry, so they could work on Stripped. 

Britney, Christina and Pink are all amazing artists in their own way and I love them.

But that's exactly the point, people listen to XTina for her old stuff when she was MAJOR.
