DiscoHeaven23 35,007
Queen of being self-aware In an interview with The New York Times P!nk discussed why she has been able to make it for as long as she has in the industry. She says: “I’ve never won the popularity contest. I was never as big as Britney or Christina. If you look at any paragraph about pop music, I don’t get mentioned — my name doesn’t come up. And yet, here I go again, right under the wave, duck-diving.” I was literally just thinking these exact thoughts the other day. I remember back in the early 00's that Britney and Christina were the big names and even though P!nk was getting top 10 hits, she wasn't experiencing the success that the other 2 were, nor the publicity. And this truly did last throughout her career. During her I'm Not Dead era, she was getting hits but not like Fergie/Nelly/Gwen were getting at the time. During her funhouse era Gaga and Beyonce dominated. Her greatest hits album brought her 2 Top 2 hits, but this was during a time when Rihanna, Kesha, Adele, Gaga, Katy and Britney were excelling too and it made it hard for P!nk to stand out. P!nk's The Turth About Love era is perhaps the first time that P!nk was able to stand out. The second half of 2012 to the second half of 2013 didn't have many pop girls out, it was really just Taylor, Rihanna and P!nk doing well. This era brought her 3 Top 10 songs, her first since Missundaztood. It also gave her the biggest song of 2013 by a female artist "Just Give Me A Reason". She was also chosen as the Woman of the Year in 2013 by Billboard. So here's a lesson in slow and steady wins the race. Just look what each of these are up to all these years later. source: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/05/arts/music/pink-interview-beautiful-trauma-trump.html

tthen 4,621
I think there are other artists like this. Can't think of any off the top of my head but I know of many. They aren't the largest or most revolutionary in their time, but they last longer than those who were.
MaryJaneHolland 77,348
She's bigger than Britney and Xtina now, so good for her. She's kinda like never in the spotlight, but still silently getting hits and having success.

Supersonic 49,376
I love P!nk. She is in the current Top 4 of pop vocalists (along with Gaga, Beyoncé & Ariana), has always been an ally to the LGBT+ community and has a century worth of bops. Even if I don't care for her current lead single, there will always be a soft spot for her in my heart
Pablo 7,811
Her songs are always in the radio, I'm happy that she's content where she is and still makes music Don't visit my profile

They aren't looking to make her compete among the new girls and one-hit wonders; they're aiming for longevity. The only thing is that I'm not entirely sure they know how to get there musically. It seems like no matter what Gaga releases it isn't taken to as warmly as something by P!nk. Barring MR, I don't think they've had single choices that have the best shot at audience resonance since TEOG or Applause.

Even older acts like P!nk and Beyoncé are doing better commercially than her Over.

Nah I'm not saying that EVERY artist who becomes huge eventually loses fame, but lots of pop girls who were once huge are now pretty meh while some artists who weren't as huge then are still releasing known content today.
