Demi might even stand a chance next week at #2 at least. I just can't believe that Miley couldn't even get #3. When it was announced that Demi was releasing on that week, everyone was like: "What is she doing? She'll be lucky to peak at #3 at this rate!" assuming that it would be Shania #1, Miley #2. But I don't know where Miley's fans went after Malibu. It's an absolute mystery. I get that the songs that were revealed after that were weaker but you have fans for a reason - to stick by you regardless. And the fans usually like what the public don't anyway. I just don't get how an artist that has nearly 10 million Vevo subscribers (more than Gaga) can only sell 45k in the debut week unless her fans are preferring to stream her stuff these days. No wonder she ranted about the charts. She clearly expected so much more than this. She promoted so much more than Shania and Demi as well. Even an artist with a weird name that no one knows debuted above her. This is grade A weird. I said months ago that her new album would be a big wake-up call for her but the success of Malibu made me think I misjudged her. But now its seems that I called it right. It's going to be very interesting to see where she goes after this as she's exhausted pretty much every musical avenue she's capable of now. We saw how too many image changes partly factored in the reason as to why Xtina's career ended. Too many in too short a period of time is too much for a fanbase to adapt to and accept.
