FYI fun facts part 2!  Some other songs that were planned singles in the USA but scrapped (there are probably more but these are ones I KNOW of)...

Waiting from Erotica

Dont Stop from Bedtime Stories (yikes lol)

Skin from Ray Of Light (it was a planned single when it had a different title.  Skin wasn't the original name)

Impressive Instant from Music. Amazing from Music (although some rare copies of this can be found).

Mother And Father from American Life.

I Love New York from Confessions (lol)

Beat Goes On and Candy Shop from Hard Candy

Superstar from MDNA   Madonna also wanted Falling Free as a single but it was denied.

I'm so glad these were scrapped. :awkney:

But the injustice for Skin and Waiting :grr:

Waiting especially broke my heart. Pun intended.

I Think We're Alone Now was originally a hit in the 1960's, Tiffany covered it and it was a HUGE hit for her.  She had a few other hits before fading away.....

Yah, Tiffany was definitely a fad of the 80s. Still bopping to I Think We're Alone Now though

Yeah, I heard it a while ago as a little teaser b4 I listen to Like A Virgin and it's such a fun song, I would've loved it as a single

This is reminding me to do a Madonna single choices thread I though about a while ago

Is it just me or did Tove Lo lowkey copy the Like A Prayer cover art? :duck:

And she called out Gaga for having a song with similiar lyrics...

Madonna you know I love you but..

It's still a bop baby!!!  I liked her voice better than her "competition" Debbie Gibson.  Tiffany's "All This Time" was My slow jam!!  Lol.

Loving going back to my 80's with this thread!!!!   Ahhhhhh I miss it! Lol

Yikes

I had heard about Don't Stop before, and still think it was a good thing it never happened

I Love New York is the only bad song on COADF and she wanted it as a single? YIKES INDEED :laughga:

And she also wanted some of the worst songs from MDNA? Madonna sweetie it's enough that album even exists :laughga:

I've always been sad that Get Into The Groove wasn't allowed to chart - I'm sure it would've went #1. It was one of her biggest hits during the 80's and a childhood favorite of mine.

SHE wanted I Love NY and the label was like "nahhhh".  There was an advert released about Superstar being the "new hotly anticipated" single from MDNA. Hotly anticipated?!?!  Lol. Thankfully that never happened but that ad was printed at least once.  Hard to locate now tho.
