The situation in Germany is - in comparsion to Canada - like this: - Women aged under 18 years: birth control pills, contraceptive coils etc. are free - Women aged between 18 and 20 years: birth control drugs are free, you only have to pay an additional contribution between min. 5 EUR and max. 10 EUR - Women aged 20 years and older: birth control drugs are NOT free, unless they are needed because of medical reasons. Contrary to popular belief, theres a lot of segments of healthcare we need to pay out of our own pocket or have insurance for Americans when they talk about free healthcare they talk about Canada but Many European Nations are better examples tbh because a lot of segments of healthcare are privatized -Dentists -Pharmacudicals -chiropractors -Ophtomologists/Optometrists ^^^^^ Those are just a few examples of many things not Covered by Government for most individuals (though some age groups get some coverage for some things)
