sad to hear this, i like the album.

But numbers wise...yeah i did not expect this album to flop as much as it is. Those first week numbers are shockin.

Younger Now is one of my favorite songs this year and it only peaked at #79 in the US. Perhaps the GP is done with her.

Crazy to realize that Gwen Stefani's debut week is two times bigger than Miley's. I love Gwen to death but her peak was a decade ago and here's a more current artist only selling half as much.

Fan base plays a huge role in things though. If you’ve got a dedicated and committed fan base, they’ll buy the album. I feel like she may have alienated fans a bit and left some of them confused about the direction of Younger Now.

Irrelevant

At least Katy still delivered a high quality tour after the flop.

But tbh, this might also be due to the previous shock @ the Bangerz Tour, it might be very worrying for her :duck:

Is Lana struggling to sell tickets for her tour?

I'm not aware of any actual numbers, but it's hard to argue that Lana would sell more tickets than Miley. Miley is much more famous and commercially successful overall.

It’s possible since Miley has been seen to be much more mainstream than Lana but...Lust for Life sold double the amount of Younger Now. But sales don’t always equate to popularity so who knows?

That's very true. It's kinda hard to compare the two because of the kinds of music they make and how they rose to fame. One thing for sure, though, is that Miley is way less on the minds of people as she was around four years ago, whereas Lana has never been quite mainstream. Her highest charting song is the Summertime Sadness remix.

A tour is not something an artist is obliged to do though...

I wouldn't be surprise if Lady Gaga is not tourning next era to be honest...

I think Gaga will always tour for her future albums. But I think she realized that she can sell stadiums and that means that the tour can be cut down to like 40 or 50 dates which isn't too much of a strain on her body.

Lana is doing arenas now which I was really surprised by so I guess her label saw the demand was high  I got tickets to her show :tony:

Surprised. I hope she's not upset about the reaction of the fans. I mean, Witness flopped(without tour bundles). So I doubt sales is the issue. Maybe she's telling the truth.

This flopped way harder then Witness tho. Witness still had a top 5 hit and went number one.

Miley's lead single barely scrapped top 10 and the album is debuting at number 5.

Plenty of artists don’t tour for every album...

Younger Now is a great album. The sales aren’t shocking, it’s very different to her most recent work and is a short, light, and airy album. She’s been doing s lot of work with her last two album. If anything, Younger Now exemplifies that she’s happy and kind of wants simplicity? Touring is demanding and takes a toll on happiness and relationships. Perhaps she just wants to focus on having a stable life?

She doesn't have to do arenas though. Do what Kesha is doing, theatres/clubs

Maybe her label doesn't even want to do that...

Malibu should have been a standalone single and the album should have been a completely different direction musically and visually.

The magic of seeing Miley normal again in Malibu wore off by the time Younger Now came around. It was too far apart and nothing on the album is better than Malibu anyway.
