I think people liked it but it doesn't have lasting power. Its so repetitive and gets annoying really fast

Addison Rae

I think she and her team just wanted to release a "statement" song and video to begin the era.

LWYMMD is obviously not hit single material but it continues the story of where Taylor was left off in 2016 as a snake.

I definitely think the new single will be coming soon with a promo campaign, unless she continues to portray this mysterious persona with no promo.

I literally haven’t heard the song once on the radio. :selena:

TBH though I feel like LWYMMD is going to be one of the weakest songs on the album. It was more just to gain buzz for the era with it's theme and video. Which worked.

I feel like this is going to be her Born This Way or Prism sort of era - carrying on from the success and hype of her previous albums she will get a couple of hits to her name, but during the next album cycle there will be a commercial drop.

It's bound to happen at some point - nobody's career constantly soars era after era.

I also think the same will happen. She will have huge numbers. But this time it could be more frontloaded and less longevity than 1989...

This means nothing. I'm far from being a fan but the song did what it was supposed to do - reach #1 and create a shitload of buzz.

Yeah, her second singles always smash more

Blank Space

I Knew You Were Trouble

It's actually smart I think to release a weaker song first since it will have a harder chance to smash if it isn't a lead.

Just for facts sake, Shake It Off is a bigger hit than Blank Space lol

But yes, ur right, I Knew You Were Trouble was bigger than WANEGBT

I honestly don’t know anyone who liked the song, besides gay boys on the internet, so I’m not surprised.
