It would have been #1, obviously And it was the obvious choice since it described Gaga's relationship with the media at the moment. Ziggy 11,866 Posted September 28, 2017 Share Posted September 28, 2017 I would have swapped DWUW and Applause, but other than that kept Interscope's the same and added Gypsy (assuming the era went well instead of tits up lol). Both songs are strong singles but I think DWUW was SO different at the time that it would have made an even bigger splash than Applause which really did quite well. Only thing is drop R. Kelly. Idk whose decision it was to put him on the track and who approved it, but that made DWUW a land mine for the PR team. Thankfully, the song is so good that it didn't matter to people, I guess haha I have a feeling it was Interscope that pushed it, though, because he just so happened to be dropping an album not long after ARTPOP under Interscope so... Applause was a good lead but tbh the best songs were ignored or wrong order 1- DWUW 2- Sexxx Dreams / MANiCURE 3- GUY 4- Gypsy/ Applause If All You Ever Do Is Look Down On People, You Won't Be Able To Recognize Your Own Weaknesses. Aura would've been an interesting lead single but it was way too experimental for an album like ARTPOP, maybe if they went with the original plan and released Act II it'd have made sense.
