It would be interesting to see the data of how many people are being tested against this. I feel like there's less of a stigma with STIs and STDs now so it may just be that more people are getting tested.

I don't think diagnosis equates to more people actually having STIs / STDs.

States have been closing Planned Parenthoods and other clinics dealing with sexual health. 

I wonder if it is that or people using condoms less because they aren't as scared of HIV?

but i think one if the biggest sources of rises last few years is just more casual sex

 

casual sex last decade or two is the least taboo its ever been

 

secondly with internet site like grindr people dont even have to try to get lucky at a bar or club... u can literally set up a sex date with a stranger with a push of a botton

 

ppl should not be surprised by this. Even with condoms ur not 100% safe

I didn't read the article but this could be misleading.

For instance, it could be just that more people went to get tested. If that were the case and people were more inclined to get tested last year, then these numbers are actually just more accurate and not an outright increase in prevalence.

This would mean outreach and awareness of getting tested is having an impact.
