From ASIB, would you rather have a big hit single from the soundtrack or the movie grossing over 100m dollars. They both quite go with each other, but if you'll have to choose, what would you choose?

I'm choosing a hit single.

I think a good movie will make a hit single, so, both I guess. :selena:

She already proved her self in the music industry, so I don't care about hit singles that much anymore... She still has to prove herself in the movie industry, so I vote for the 100M+.

Top 20 single, and I'm hoping for 30-50 million for the box office :emma:

A billboard hit does not remotely guarantee the song will be nominated for an Oscar, however, if the film is popular enough to gross over $100M I assume there'd be a decent campaign at the Golden Globes and Oscars.

But in general, I'd settle for a single charting on the Hot 100 (anywhere, for any amount of time); a Rotten Tomatoes score of 70 or more; no terrible reviews for Stefani's acting; and a gross of 70M+ domestically (20M+ opening weekend would be great).

That being said, films like this are so iffy. Especially at the beginning of summer. Take a look at this summer's box office. It was primarily one dud after another until It.

First and foremost, this is a movie - so I'm choosing box office success. The fact we're getting music with it is a bonus tbh

lol Wonder Woman opened with $103 mil, SpiderMan opened with $117 mil, Guardians of The Galaxy 2 $146 mil

how are these duds?

Of course I would like both, but if I had to choose one, Gaga has already had hit singles and she's very established in the music industry. Now lets see her have successful numbers for her acting ability

And is ASIB comparable to these DC/Marvel Comics films in any way? In general, this summer box office was a dud especially for non-action films.

The 2017 Summer Box Office is Hollywoods Worst in Over a Decade

Feel free to click the link and read more. I only mentioned It because the film over-performed and, like ASIB, is a remake with a likely similar budget (despite genre differences).

She's so successfully in music so i'd like her to become successful in acting, I hope she properly promotes this film with Bradley by her side
