So I don't feel that it just sounds okay, it really speaks to me on a personal level in a way that Dope doesn't, which is why I like it more. Dope is still an amazing song though, I can't disagree with that!

I never saw it like that. After all she sings she need us *more* than dope. And even if it doesn't go for cannabis, the fact that people choose certain drugs before their job, spouse and children, I'm ok with that. I mean to quote five foot two "my fans are my heart and soul" ♥️ Dope is essentially her saying "please forgive me little monsters because I love you more than you'll ever know. You're the salt to my pepper and if you ever left me, it would be so devastating I don't know if I'd ever recover from it." That's just heartbreaking to me. Yeah we drive her crazy sometimes but at the end of the day, she wouldn't have it any other way. She couldn't live without her monsters. "My heart would break without you. Might not awake without you". I love you monsters. I'd be unfixably broken without you

I caught up with sooo much 90s music because I started getting into music and pop culture when I was 5-6, so I already knew Nirvana, Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls So I get where you're coming from. UWontUseMyMind 702
I think that Dope and IWBWY are both special in their own way, and sometimes I feel the necessity to sing IWBWY because I love that:" I don't care what they say cause I was born this way..." but honestly I think that Dope, for the album at least, was a better choice. Dope is such a personal song and the first time I heard it, when I was exploring ARTPOP song by song when every song would have been a surprise or a delusion, I felt so sad but at the same time so inspired and ,I remember It was late night, I listened Dope in repeat... such good memories. Off topic: when The Fame came out I was 6 years old and when The Fame Monster came out Telephone was my ringtone in a old Nokia, thanks to my sister. If you want a ballad, I'll give you a ballad." So she changed it to be rebellious. At least in part. It does have real meaning behind it. I never heard that before, I remember Gaga saying her label wanted something different because I Wanna Be With You wasn't relatable to the GP
