Media loves to tear celebrities down. They've done it to every huge pop star of the last 50 years.(TS right now is a great example of it.) Beyonce and Rihanna are the exceptions. They can do no wrong in the medias eye.

Beyoncé had her "we hate this egotistcal bitch" moment already throughout 1999-2001, Rihanna had hers after the Unapologetic era where she got dragged/slut-shamed on the regular and then got messy defending herself on Insta, which led to her account being suspended for a long time. Rihanna was the 1 in a million lucky pop girl who had her "fall from grace" during a time where she had nothing to promote, similar to Taylor Swift and came back full force with the next era.

If you ask me, Beyoncé is on the brink of a "we hate her again" moment, because she's been to vocal about black people deserving to like... live. She's never gonna face any other backlash tho, that would be justified and too easy for the media.
