She should have released Malibu closer to the release date of the album I guess. Those numbers are astonishing.

Crazy how Malibu was not an indicator of the success of the entire era. I feel like people are letting Younger Now's floppage cloud their minds and now view Malibu as a flop. It was a success as very few women were able to get their leads Top 10 in the first week. It started off in the first few weeks with stellar Spotify streams for a female song. It sold 550k which songs just won't be doing anymore. If we used Malibu as an indicator for the era I would have predicted the album at #1 with Kesha-ish numbers.

Same. Just based on Malibu’s success, I would’ve predicted in the 90-120k range for first week SPS.
