How can a party like afd become so big.. that scares the **** out of me :grr: dumb people

The same way people like Trump can win - fear mongering. They usually aim for people who aren't educated or feel like their government isn't listening to them.

87% of the population didn't vote right, so I'm sure your visits will still be great.

Just don't visit Eastern Germany outside of Berlin. That's where the AfD got >20% of their votes.

Or maybe, do visit there. Show them that Arabs are nice people and let them enjoy the economic benefits of your tourism there, that might also be a way to fight the alt-right.

The most likely scenario is the "jamaica" coalition, meaning CDU + FDP + Green Party.

CDU is Merkel, FDP is the neoliberal party that is pretty much the party of more wealthier people and of companies and the Green Party is more progressice, leftwing and for a better environment. I don't trust the Green Party though. They are hypocritical IMO and will sell their asses for a government coalition where they can take part

I wouldn't say it's that extreme. Even though a big part of AfD voters are from Sachsen and such,  there are still many reasonable and intelligent people here. You can walk around with a hijab without being afraid of becoming a target
