Pitch correction will only save your fave in the studio. Unfortunately nobody will hear the songs sung in the correct key because NOBODY BOUGHT THE ALBUM. On the up side, nobody will hear them in the wrong key either because NOBODY BOUGHT TICKETS. Essentially the public have been spared for a whole era. Congrats. The Hunting Ground was released at Sundance in February 2015, then nominated at the 2016 Oscars. The movie in general, maybe....but that would imply it was an ~auteur~ prestige film in the first place, when it's the 4th version of this film, from the screenwriter of Nicholas Sparks adaptations, and Bradley Cooper's directorial debut. (I'm not saying it will be awful, and a May release implies faith that regular people will go see it, but it honestly doesn't seem like that type of awards bait to me, you know?) Keep making those cheap ATRL threads about Gaga being higher on iTunes than Katy, I guess. That's all you are left with. Can't wait for Gaga's next era! She's so talented and respected now, she will be getting numbers 1s left and right! 300k opening on lock. Do you have actual facts on this or are you just opening your mouth and words are coming out? Her acting in AHS was panned quite a bit. You guys have been acting so cocky since February... All those Katy vs. Gaga threads made by Monstes on ATRL. Can't wait for American Idol and Katy's comeback because karma is NOT a liar and keeps receipts. Oh my God. Katy Perry's one remaining fan is here, everyone! I heard they were all extinct by now. This is a rare occurrence, indeed. Be careful not to observe it too closely, though; I've heard that just like Katy Perry, it disappears upon critical review. asana15 16,648
Here's a nice piece to ponder for you all before deciding whether the date change is good or bad (posted on P&J forum by Femme Aesthetic): "...May is one of the key movie months of the year because it's officially the start of the summer "blockbuster" season, schools and colleges are beginning to finish and there's the Memorial Day long weekend. There is a lot of pressure for big bucks and tends to see the release of several key tent-poles - see how panicked the industry became when this year's May releases disappointed one after the other which ended up predicting an overall weak quarter. So it's very positive that Warner Bros. are considering the movie strong enough after seeing the first cut to move up by months into a key May gap, right before the long holiday weekend and as Star Wars counter programming AND that Deadline is hinting that they want a Cannes premiere. WB are known for launching successfully adult leaning genre fair; they were punching above the trend this summer with Wonder Woman, Dunkirk, Annabelle: Creation and IT opening above expectation (way, way, way above for IT). They have also used similar strategies to launch Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby and Mad Max: Fury Road; both screened at Cannes and released on the same May weekend in 2013 and 2015 (to $50m and $45m respectively). This is not to say A Star Is Born is guaranteed to be a hit or even any good, but that this news is far more positive than it is negative. If WB considers it worthy of this kind of marketing push (the only other movie in May it's distributing is the next Melissa McCarthy comedy vehicle) from a studio that is known for its fantastic marketing campaigns, than whew..."
