Sis, as I said how can u know if those "sources" are even reliable?? Again u can not believe everything u read on internet

you can't believe all the things that are on books either.

I think the boundaries between genres are relative and always evolving and especially now when pop music borrows influences from a variety of genres.

Am I the only one who hears disco influences in Summerboy? :toofunny:

I never hear any kinds of influences in Summerboy because I skip it like it's out to kill me.

(I effing hate that song, with a passion)

These choices are so broad that it's impossible to vote. Based on disco influences I have to choose the option that is shared with two of Gaga's most annoying tracks. (Summerboy and Eh, Eh are trash, but Disco Heaven is Godly.) It's not possible to choose because every good option is sitting next to such meh others. So by having so many options it totally invalidates a "vote"

Also not everyone has strong knowledge in music, it would be logical to have the most clear and obvious options on the list not ones that are really a matter of words that were spoken.

I'd really like to have your ears to hear the disco influence in 90% of these songs

And no, Wikipedia is not a credible source.

Because for me it has nothing to do with the core concept, the song is in my least favorite vocal register. Disco Heaven should not be a bonus track when meh like that is making it into the actual record.

Synthpop is evolving from disco so it's normal to borrow some elements from it.

Like think about the synth in the back of TEOG. Judas and MTN choruses. :neyde:

And what besides Wikipedia should be credible source when it comes to genres for songs?

If any song has nothing to do with the core concept it's Eh, Eh, it's different both sonically and lyrically. Summerboy is much closer, there are lyrics relating to the transiency of fame and stardom, plus it is about having just romantic flings and not falling in love just having fun which embodies the lifestyle of a rockstar. I guess you don't like Gwen Stefani then, cause Gaga sounds very similar to her on Summerboy and since I like Gwen I like Summerboy as well, for me it's one of Gaga's most underrated songs actually.
