Anderson123 37,710 Posted September 20, 2017 Share Posted September 20, 2017 I absolutely love Heaven Upside Down ! I think this and The Pale Emperor are his strongest albums since Holy Wood. I've enjoyed the other ones but these are on another level. I've learned not to trust Manson when it comes to the description of his new music. He said that people listened to Heaven Upside Down and reminded them of Antichrist and I wish it'd have been that way but nah. The new album is kind of a mix of Pale Emperor with The High End of Low and Eat Me Drink Me. My favorite tracks so far are Say10, Saturnalia and Kill4Me (This one reminded me a little bit of Third Day of a Seven Day Binge). I've only listened to it once so this will probably change in a couple of months but yes, I am very satisfied with this album, the wait was worth it even though it felt like it was never coming. It is the lyrics that are atrocious and the video for WKWYFL is awful and predictable, but the music alone for both songs is alright. I love The Pale Emperor. The lyrics so far on this album are so elementary school, so far and a far cry from TPE. I will wait and hear the rest at release date, but I have read an early album review and I expect to like at least one to two songs by how they are described. I expect better of Manson and Twiggy. I DO love the new NIN ep though ADD VIOLENCE and I have been over that music for awhile now, so this music seems to come and go for me. I haven't loved anything all of the way from NIN since Pretty Hate Machine and have liked Manson's music more, besides lately. The future's uncertain and the end is always near. I didn't think Manson would ever be able to go back to an industrial/punk rock style and make it good. I hope Tyler sticks around for many more albums to come though, this album is really good.
