They are different situations, though. I don't personally think Cultura using the word in this way is terrible enough to get fired. I mean it is used in the group name anyways so idk. 

Ariana saying I hate America to her friends really isn't a big deal. Friends say stuff to each other that would be borderline offensive if anyone else heard all the time. It wasn't meant to be a public message.

I still don't see the fuss over using a word, even one that's a ridiculous slur, if your intentions aren't hateful. It's a word. It only has the power you give it

Some of you would go crazy if you lived where I do. Slurs are thrown all around the place by everyone but hardly ever with actual hateful intent. And no one bats an eye either. No harm meant, no harm done. That's what it's like when you're an adult living in the real world. Hell, it's a habit even I had before this site changed my behavior to be more PC acting (though my old "who cares?" attitude has yet to fade...probably to preserve my sanity ).

OT: I don't think the dancer deserved anything more than a scolding but I also don't think Ariana is a hypocrite. Plenty of us Americans say we hate our country for a ton of reasons, most of them trivial, and sometimes there's no real reason at all. Don't take her comment that seriously

You know Ariana wasn't serious right? Even I say I hate America but I don't mean it. I love my country but it's like a funny reply to certain situations I.e. What she was referring too. That's not offensive. Using the n word is. The only way I could see Ariana in the wrong is if she was anti America which obviously she isn't....

This, exactly.  She may have used unfortunate wording, haven't we all on occasion, but this is obviously what she was talking about.  She does not hate Americans, and the next time she tours here, and I'm sure she will, I'll be the 1st in line.
