A P P L A U S E

I totally hear the comparisons. Gaga needs to sue for a writers credit.

Reminds me of both Applause and Perfect Illusion so you're not wrong. However dragging him for this would be silly considering the Born This Way/Express Yourself mess

Born This Way and Express Yourself only have 4 chords in common. This Nick Jonas song is a complete rip-off of an acoustic version of Applause.

It's just the chord progression. The progression is identical to Perfect Illusion's intro. Similar instrumentation as well.

But you can't copyright chord progressions, there's only so many different types of progressions that artists are daring enough to use for popular music, so naturally, many chord progressions are similar and/or identical.

Guys using the same chord progression is NOT copying a song :smh:

All of these songs use the exact same chord progression and its fine. They are not rip offs or samples of each other. There are even 2 gaga songs in here 1:36 and 4:19.

Hands up to the sky, I'm about to fly!

Just try and listen to the first 3 sounds from the guitars in each of the songs. They are playing the same chords. Thats really the only thing that makes the songs sound a little similar.

It's okay :) The melody and lyrics are completely different so there's really no copying going on. (Other than the guitar having the same harmonic movement as perfect illusion's intro)

Aside from the chord progression, there really isn't anything similar about the songs at all. I actually don't get the Applause references at all, personally.

The applause one isnt as close and is harder to hear but I believe its still the same chord progression only its a little bit higher in pitch (1 half step)

Its easier to hear if you listen to the really low bass note that goes downward while the other note goes upward.
