I wasn't too thrilled with it live at the JWT. I wanted it to be the opening song before the tour started and knew it probably would be but was hoping it would be a little more electrifying. On one hand I wanted it to be, because it's a great song obviously but then again, I remember at the ArtRave when ARTPOP was the opening song. Diamond Heart would have been a perfect lead or final single, especially if it had a great video to go along with it. I could imagine something like the MTN music video working really well. I remember being SO nervous about listening to Joanne for the first time and afraid I wasn't going to like it, and then bam, I'm hit with Diamond Heart. One of the best surprises in my music listening experience. Also, those simple opening chords with her softly singing "Young wild American..."
