This show will be so good. I am excited to see the side of her that I never see before. The human side who can feel pain, and frustated and being difficult at times, and all that, aside of the good things. It is great that she allow us to peek a part of this. Grateful tbh :applause:

You beat me to it!

OT: lol @ them posting a review already when it's being premiered as we speak.

TIFF has two schedules. There's what's called a P&I schedule (press and industry) and then public screenings. The 6:00 screening was public. The P&I screening for journalists was this morning.

so many incorrect stuff here lmfao, first off all it's LEGAL in some states to smoke weed for MEDICAL purpouses such as ANXIETY

second Sonja wasn't just a colleague yet her BEST FRIEND

and really of all the moments such as CHRONIC pain they decided to write about her "diva fit meltdown" and Madonna thing that was max 3 minutes long (I'm guessing) bullshit...this is so disgusting

AND...THIS SHOULD BE CALLED A REVIEW???? NO

journalism done WRONG

Idk they mentioned things that would garner clicks. That's how journalism works lol wish it was different, but they need to write about the things that will appeal to casual readers as well as harder fans.

I dont know why but I just have a good feeling about the documentary. I really think the gp will like it and that it will be an interesting thing to talk about!

But we'll see soon enough with the Netflix premiere

"The scene where she plays 'Joanne', the title track for her new album, to her aged grandmother, an intense tribute to her late aunt who died after having her hands amputated, is particularly fascinating. Gaga clearly craves approval and validation from the elderly lady and seems to be pushing to create a cathartic drama out the scene, but her grandmother seems resistant to all this emotional hyperbole, insisting that the loss is well in the past now."

nnnnnnnnnnnn :rip:

This is a REVIEW tho, not a gossip article or just any article...there's huge difference

It wasn't like this stuff wasn't in it, though. It was mentioned in the review as it was in the doc. Plus, I'm sure Chris knew it would be something predominantly mentioned and he included it anyway. The way I see it is that this may entice people to watch the doc and have a nice time with it.

As far as journalistic integrity goes, that's a romantic notion. Media's a tough business so you need to play smart with your SEO to get visibility, especially with reviews when every major outlet will have one. Gaga and Madonna and drama moves better and gets more hits than Gaga and chronic pain. At least he didn't make the review about that entirely, just mentioned it as it was something in the doc and likely something people will take away from it. No, it isn't celebrity gossip, but celebrity gossip sells so if you can find a way to organically include it in your article or review they'd be stupid not to take the chance.
