Cause thats what GP sees, they listen to the music adn read about the controversies, the other stuff is damaging but not as much as the two I mentioned. Well, I'd like to start by saying that while I may be criticizing these choices as contributions to her flopping, I would like to point out that I'm not saying they are bad moves or that I don't personally like them. Her Hair: So, the short cut isn't new to the music scene, but it just never looked stunning on her. It was also a little abrasive to the mainstream view of Katy. Long brown hair is default, but it was hers, and people liked it. I don't even think the hair color was the issue, it was the length. Too short for the trends. Her collaborations: They were absolutely unknown, moderately trendy, and overexposed. Chained To The Rhythm wasn't a bad song, but it was so wishy-washy and subtle that it didn't really have a chance to make a stand. It sounded like filler, and even though I listened and still listen to it, it just wasn't the firework or Roar of singles. Bon Appetit had a ton of potential, but it too was weak. The beat was good, and the song is sexy, but the vocals are almost anti-climactic. Migos was a mess, and they didn't really add anything to the song. Though, at times, it seemed like a migos song that Katy was featured on. Too weak. (The video took off, but only because of it being a mess. Swish Swish was also very weak, little to no back track, so the vocals are really important, which makes performances extra special. (She's not great with live vocals, so it never worked out well) Not to mention, the video/teasers were super-try hard and come off really cringey. She was asking to be made fun of, and while it might be her shtick: to not take herself seriously. It doesn't help her at all. If she isn't taking it seriously, no one will take her seriously. This is just a music/video stand point, but given enough time, I could dissect the entire project. I didn't touch of the "woke" aspect of everything, but it too was important when contrasted with her making fun of herself. All the features and the new look and the lack of true message caused the GP to lose interest. Part of the reason why Gaga is more successful these days is because she is blonde again. Katy sort of lost it, but I'd imagine that if she came back with a different hair style and great songs she will be more successful next time around. So I'd say most of this is true, but honestly your writing sounds a little biased and unorganized (if you were looking for helpful criticism) Spoiler American idol : When you are tone deaf with very bad live vocals (based on people's opinion) , signing a 25 millions dollars deal with a show that was announced it was over for good a year before made Katy look greedy , the deal didn't match the new image she wants to show plus the decision to bring american idol back made the show lose credibility before even starting ! Side note : Katy perry is talented and we will soon discuss why people think she sounds bad live and our opinion about it . If you're trying to be a more credible writer I would say something along the lines of 'Katy who isn't particularly known for her live vocals confused the public when she announced she'd be judging the even more surprising reboot of American Idol.'
