Not to mention that YouTube makes TRL pointless. Why would I bother putting my TV on, going through commercials and etc, just to watch a MV, when I can search whatever I want on my phone in 5 seconds?

but trl wasn't just about the count down sis lol

That's why vevo's doing this.

If trl (I almost typed it with an a) can serve messy then we're good. But I doubt that.

I'm 16 so idk what was it about since I was 4? when TRL was a thing, but as far as I know it played the most demmanded MV/Songs, but nowadays it's existence is pointless. The social media/YouTube took TRL's place a LONG time ago.

Hopefully it'll turn out well. I actually think Kanye would be the more fitting guest if they want dem controversy. Also have celebs do nasty stuff.

well thats not really what happened, I will give you a refresher to why TRL ended since you were young.

TRL's ratings peaked in late 2001 while remaining steady, Carson Daly stepped down in 2002 and made Casual hosting dutys from 2003-2005, during this time TRL's ratings slipped but they were still sustainable. Youtube debuted in 2005 but no one was really using it until the Summer of 2006. During the start of 2007 TRL's ratings slipped to very bad numbers and MTV was considering cancelling the show in March 2007. To counter the sinking numbers MTV broadcasted the show only 2 days a week and In Sepetmber 2008 MTV finally pulled the plug on the show due to ratings becoming unsustainable to continue.

But at its peak TRL was everything, its just hard to grasp if you were not of age.

I see it is nostalgic thing for all 80s and 90s kids/teens, but it realy is not needed nowadays. And sometimes old things shouldn't be brought back, because most of the time it only ruins the good memmories.

PS: As Britney stan I only know that Britney was the queen of TRL and when the show ended it closed with BOMT.

Her and Diddy were always on the show,  what really messed it up is when they kept the videos at 30 seconds,  There was a point in TRL's last year in 2008 where they only showed 12-30 seconds of a music video and then eventuallty stopped showing the video lol  During its final 2 month they stopped doing a countdown lol
