I flew to see her, saved a bunch of money for this for months, and don't know how to process this, I don't want to be dramatic but I actually have been waiting for this moment since 2009. Heartbroken

Reading stuff like this breaks my heart. I'm sorry. Sad_Face_Emoji_large.png?v=1480481055

Apparently the show is rescheduled for November 1st. Are you able to cut some of the costs now and fly again to see her?

Not really tbh. It is very very unfortunate but Gaga has cancelled and rescheduled a number of shows (end of the btwb, some artrave shows) and while Ticketmaster will refund money if the show is cancelled completely, if fans choose to travel for a show, then Ticketmaster or Gaga's management are not responsible for those added travel expenses. It sucks but it's the way it is. It happened to me with a few shows.

I know Gaga or Ticketmaster are not technically responsible for travel/hotel expenses. Its like a loophole that fans fall through, maybe thats not the right terminology but I just feel like there should be some type of insurance for this situation. I know its not Gaga's fault she had to cancel but If I were in her place, I would feel a moral obligation to refund the fans. I guess that's just me though.

Well, I expected it when I watched videos of her singing her lungs out under the rain. I feel so sorry for all the fans like @Robo Ga who spent money on transports and accommodations :( **** like this happens, sadly

Honestly, if I had the amount of money that she has and cancelled a concert hours before I was supposed to perform, I would. Im not saying she owes it to her fans. It would just be a nice gesture. I mean, why even respond to that fan's comment if she isn't going to offer, its just odd to me.

that would be a mess trying to keep people from fraud and validating expenses.

Its sort of weird for her to respond to that comment and then not offer to give refunds to people for their travel and hotel expenses.

If she offered to refund this one fan for his travel expenses, what about the other thousands of fans who also paid for travel expenses? I'd be annoyed if I saw that a random fan got compensation for travel expenses and I didn't. People would be mad and she would have to offer it to everyone for it to be fair, and that would really add up in cost. I'm sure this fan was excited to have Gaga personally respond to his message. So it was still a nice thing for her to do.

And travel expenses are not the artist's responsibility. If you decide to travel far away for a concert or any event, there's always the possibility that it could be cancelled. That's just the risk you take.

I think it would have been nice if she had announced the cancellation this MORNING, instead of a few hours before the show. :wtf: That would have saved a lot of people long drives. Certainly she was feeling sick this morning? It didn't just come out of nowhere if it was due to performing in the rain a couple days ago.

Thats specifically why I feel like a refund would be very nice of her, and not just to that one fan, to all of them. However, now that I think about it, that would really add up....That could end up being like 5 million dollars.

I totally want her to get better, and I TOTALLY understand fan's frustrations about all of this, but seriously...the timing? She was supposed to go on in three hours.

She posted about Beyoncé two hours ago. And now this. This should have been a priority this morning to get this out - I understand she wanted to rest and see if she'd be okay...just seems crazy late in the day to announce this.

EDIT: Nevermind she just specifically addressed this issue. All mah love!

All these monsters on Twitter saying "we understand, we would never be mad at you!"...i mean that's nice and all but that seems so fake. Y'all know if she cancelled your show you'd be pissed...

No I wouldn't be pissed, disappointed sure. But that's just the risk you take when traveling for any event, you never know when the band/artist may get sick or something comes up in their personal life. I've had a show canceled on me before and I just tried to make the best of it in the city I traveled to. Me and my friend ended up having a great time anyway. There's plenty of things to do anywhere!

And it also opens up the door to fraud. How can she validate that everyone's travel expenses are legit? It would be SO much work. There would surely be people trying to cash in and claim they spent a ton of money on hotels, flights, and gas when they didn't. She would have to have a team of people checking all kinds of receipts to ensure that people's claims are authentic.

And then there's people who traveled from far away, but the concert was not the only reason for their travels. Maybe they were visiting friends/family or had something else to do in Montreal during that time and the concert was just an add on. They would have paid for travel expenses regardless of the concert and would now get compensation from Gaga even though she wasn't the reason for their expenses. :smh:

There is just absolutely no way for her to do this without having it be a complete mess and cost her millions of dollars. :rip:
