Its a business they run where you pay to become mayor for a day. They give you a square inch of land in the town so you are officially a resident and they then give you the key to the town and you sign the paperwork and voila, you are mayor Thats what he did. It's also simply not promoting, or contributing to, any actual discrimination of heterosexual people. All he did was satirise Donald Trump's Muslim Ban and created a spectacle while doing so. Straight people in Hell are okay, straight people wanting to visit Hell can still do so. Nobody is or ever has seriously contemplated banning straight people from the town. I'm just not sure what the harm is here tbh. It was clearly satirical, it was fully unenforceable, it had no actual impact on the heterosexual community. It's more of a silly title anyway. The town of Hell issues fully honorary, practically useless mayoral certificates for a small price, only to impeach those who buy it almost immediately.
