PopThatArt 2,193 Posted August 30, 2017 Share Posted August 30, 2017 Is it just me or has anyone else noticed everyone is pretty much doing the same thing in music, except Gaga, everyone is releasing some "diss track" or "diss video" where they imitate someone else as a way to bite back for some immature comment made or to prolong some stupid feud. Taylor Swift's new video, Katy's new video, it's just all so tacky and the same. Everyone is relying on the same gimmick to try to get buzz and attention, they are doing everything but actually releasing good music/videos, they are relying on immature tactics for attention and to try to generate views just so they can say "oh look, I'm so popular". It's all so pretentious and fake and juvenile, and they're playing the public and fans for fools, and the sad part is the fans are allowing their so called favorite singer to play them and suck them dry financially. Everyone is just taking jabs at eachother and being immature like they're a bunch of grade 5 brats. Lady Gaga on the other hand, is doing her thing, actually working, releasing good music, good albums, putting on a great tour, working on a movie, and doing a ton of other projects, yet certain people want Gaga to be like those degenerates screwing up the industry with their useless fodder. Why? Gaga doesn't have to resort to their immature stupid tactics and feuds and imitate others who she has so called "beefs" with to get attention. It's like everyone these days from Katy to Taylor to Nicki and all the rest, again, except Gaga, are sacrificing their integrity and resorting to such stupid sh*t to sell. It's pathetic. Real artists have all died, and when everyone was bashing Gaga for doing country, I've always found it brave and real, she doesn't go where the wind goes, she does her own **** for music, not for attention, popularity, she's not about that life anymore and I love it. Music even sounds like what the industry is all about which is marketing, money and fame, not about art anymore. Just how it feels to me, and it's depressing. Reason why every song kinda sounds the same, don't wanna sound all negative cus there are few exceptions but the majority are just fame whores, not artists. At times it can drive her to insanity and performance until she has exhausted herself, and other times she moves very quickly through phases. Since the beginning she has her hand in everything, and later into her career the doors are open to her if her and her team can find the innovation to choose or evolve an opportunity that's perfect for Gaga's name and brand and vast abilities. Its that drive and eye for fit that has caused her brand to have the feeling that whatever she does, sounds like 100% her idea or something she would have chosen for herself. It's social commentary at how celebrities are scrutinized by the media. Yes it is criticism, but it's not a "diss" Taylor is aiming at specific individuals, so was Katy. And that's what separates Gaga from them. Gaga never uses her art as flak against fellow artists. Yes, she had her good share of feuds but most of the times they were limited to twitter spats. Madonna was the only exception, still the nature of it was completely different and when you think about it, much more serious than "some dancers left my tour and joined hers wahhh" But to be honest, DWUW FT. (Don't mention rap/hip hop because diss tracks are standard and "feuds" are apart of the camaraderie of that genre) I mean I get what you mean about the "everything sounds fake/contrived" but the feud thing?
