While Miley's performance was talked bout, it was only really shocking to young kids in 2013. My generation had Britney dancing half-naked with a snake, Xtina acting like a slut, lesbian kiss by three superstars, Pink going onstage hammered, Lady Gaga's Paparazzi and Meat-dress, Eminem's numerous controversial appearances and that Kanye I'mma let you finish moment. The VMAs are always a little artificial in that the producers are looking for scandals and moments to talk about and aren't really about talent. It's shock factor.
