This video is sooooooo cute and funny. I'm 100% positive she purposely made it really cringey and even then the cringe is still cute!

Atrocious video, but totally Katy since she always tries to go for the laughs.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

She is so behind... Katy we are in 2017 and you are 30. Stop.

So you can't joke around and have fun when you're 30?

Interesting that (majority of) gays don't want to feel suppressed/judged and instead be accepted for who they are, but don't extend that grace and love onto others. If we want to move forward as an accepting society, we have to love each other. I say this as a gay man.

If you're dragging her because you didn't enjoy the video, fine. Don't drag Katy though because of her age. Attacking someones personality and age is wrong.

I am not a KatyKat by any means, but the whole hating on Katy thing is getting really disgusting and tiresome. I bet majority of people don't even "hate" her, it's just become a trend and people aren't capable of thinking for themselves. Sad.

You do you Katy!

I am going to take aside the comparison of Gay acceptance to this.

Look, I never said anything about Madonna for being old and provocative or the kind of videos she does, for example. So it is not about that. You can be fun, ironic, joke, etc like Gaga did in John Wayne, or many others like Taylor swift looking crazy for a boyfriend in a video etc without making it look like you are desperate to appeal to vine audience and to become viral in some kind of gif form. That's it. Because this humor is bland, eassy, simple, childish... so I don't like it. You can make it once (see LFN). But it's getting old and tired. And for me it looks ridiculous on her. She can do better.

It's as if Katy Perry said "what if we let the comments section of memes/reddit to direct our video"

Still love the song tho. Nicki's part was :pray::pray::pray::pray::pray:

Jesus in Heaven. This is even worse than I could've predicted. I didn't think she would actually re-enact meme gifs and do cartoon-like moves like balancing on basketballs while juggling them with her feet. Although I didn't see as many as some memes pop up as people claim, but maybe I'm missing something? I actually laughed at that Shooting Stars one but understand that any laughter that was had was at her, not with her. I appreciate the fact that she's making light of flopping via self-depracation but this was not the way to go about her. It just made her look even more of a mess. Nicki looks good and I don't even like her blonde hair look usually. I've finally understood that Nicki was likely taking on the role of the halftime performer (her part seemed so random) but it's so obvious that she was never there for filming and just sent pre-filmed footage, just like she did for Bitch I'm Madonna. She really doesn't seem to have respect for her fellow female stars, does she? Yet, she has the audacity to say that she's making hits with Katy? That's the really ironic part about it all - she brags about working with Katy in the song yet has disowned the song in lots of ways. She's not done one promo performance of it with Katy yet (the VMAs might be the one and only time she does) and she couldn't even be bothered to show up for the actual video's filming. She probably feels so embarrassed that she's mentioning how this is a hit song on a single that's turned into one of the biggest flops of Katy's career. She really said what we were all thinking when she chucked the ball at Katy.

Over 180k dislikes and its only been out a day. It's going to overtake This Is How We Do to become her #5 most disliked video by tomorrow...and it'll probably overtake Last Friday Night's 260k dislikes to become #4 by the time the VMAs come around. And after that, well, it's coming for Bon Appetit at #3 with over 470k dislikes. I really don't know why her team allow these videos that seem designed to be mocked and disliked. It's not reflecting well on her career whatsoever. Appealing to the kids once again is ruining her career. When will her team realise that she's too old now for the kids to find her cool?

WE'REL LOSING THEM, QUICK GET THE INTERNET AUDIENCE BACK WHAT MEMES RE POPULAR???????

Don't forget pulling in the urban fans. She likely put Nicki on there because she'd just had a pop hit with Ariana last year and there's no way she would have put Migos on the album if they hadn't got a US #1 at the end of the year. But yeah, she's really regressing from everything that she's built up so far. Witness was supposed to be her realest album yet, an indepth look into her psyche but she's still the same Katy we know, the Katy that lives for the kid audience. Calling her album "purposeful pop" was the kiss of the death for it, in the same way that pretentiousness was the kiss of death for AP.

That's all very well but you can have fun in a way that's appropriate to your age. There's kid humour and then there's adult humour. You don't laugh at the same jokes you did when you were 5, right? Because your sense of humour is more developed from when you were a kid. But when you become an adult, your humour takes on new ideas that didn't cross your mind before and you end up creating a whole new humour that's even more hilarious. You can even do immature humour as an adult but it's adult immature humour. It's really cringey when a full grown adult hasn't seemed to have grown out of their immature kid humour. And I don't know how you correlated this idea with not letting gays be themselves. That has no connection whatsoever.

No, actually, the majority of people are informed in their hate. They heard a song/album, they didn't like it, and now they're hating on it. Katy has been criticised for her music/imagery/persona etc. from the beginning. Even when she was popular, she was getting slammed. Don't insult people's intelligence by saying that they're just jumping on the hate bandwagon when they have very good reasons for her disliking her.
