The Joanne Trattoria

I decided to look up the restaurant's reviews on google and yelp. It seems like most people thin that the food is mediocre. Is this restaurant only surviving because it's Lady gaga's parents restaurant? Just wondering. Allot of people say that the service is terrible to. But then there are others who said it was marvelous. I really don't know what to think of the restaurant.

I went three years ago. Yes, the food is mediocre. The meatballs are good but not the best thing ever. The service was good tho, the waiter was a little monster and was on his first day and we talked a lot about those things. Also, papa Joe was there so it was cool. To answer your question: yes, I think the restaurant  is only surviving because of Gaga.

Doesn't every restaurant have mixed reviews though?

I honestly think it just comes with having a restaurant in a highly populated area such as New York, if you look at other restaurants related/in the area, the reviews are relatively similar.

I understand what you're saying though!

There is probably a lot on Gaga's name. But it also depends on the food you order, who is serving you, etc.

While I'm not saying surviving merely on Gaga is a good thing, if they have enough business to stay afloat than it's really none of our concern.

I imagine most people who go there know it's Lady Gaga's parents' restaurant, so expectations are probably extra high. People probably expect a culinary experience as iconic as Gaga is, and when it's just good, it's probably a little disappointing.

But who cares if Gaga's fame is keeping it open. That means if she wasn't famous it would be closed. Or would have never opened.

I've been like 5 times, the food is really good. Not AMAZING but it's good. The service has always been great, everyone's friendly.

I made a reservation 3 months prior. When I got there they didn't see it. We got pushed up against a wall, the food was burnt and the server was super rude. Still an interesting experience though. Seeing her dad was cool even though I didn't say anything to him.

I work in a restaurant. In general, people only write reviews to complain. They want something free or they have so little going on in their lives that they get online and try and make a fuss. I went to Joanne's and it was great. Not amazing, but it's worth it for the pricing and I enjoyed the experience and service

I'll never forget that rat incident :air:

I've heard that the food is great, you know, nothing spectacular. The staff is amazing though, very friendly to the fans.

I like dancin', and ponies....
