Lion Heart 15,041
It didn't underperform imo, it was just expected to do better. The leak, the rush release of Edge of Glory and Hair as a promo single while Judas was still around, and the obvious religious controversy (helped by the fact she intended to release Judas during Easter) were mainly the reasons why it didn't perform as expected, if you ask me. this /close this forum ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀

MelbHawker 6,583
The religious references are why it didn't perform. Radio refused to play it. Most music channels on TV refused. Pretty obvious. Only GaGa stans would love the 'JudAAASS JudAAAAHH' parts as well. Only stans.

Kermit the frog 1,860
It flopped because it sounds exactly like bad romance + the chorus sounds too gay. /thread
sal 0
Can we please stop discussing why Judas didn't do well? It actually did well. Close this ****
Tommy Monster 809
I just think that Judas is the best song from this album, but public people dont get it :( judas-judaaaa is the disturbing element people dont like in my oppinion... and that 2 baby in chorus, I noticed it too, but it doesn´t bother me :D :P
FutureMetalGrunge 0
I don't have a favorite song on this album--all of the songs are amazing. I have least favorites though. I feel like Bad Kids / Americano missed the mark. Do you guys think it's the lyrics, the production, or both? In Americano, I love the lyrics, although the production makes the song sound redundant and annoying sometimes. As for bad kids, I think it's a combination of below-gaga-par lyrics and production, but more so I feel like the lyrics are almost too simplistic. Bad Kids was a big disappointment for me, because the meaning that Gaga was trying to convey kinda got lost in the immature-sounding production. Forrest Gump 1
It flopped because it sounds exactly like bad romance + the chorus sounds too gay. /thread #1 the leak caused a lower debut than it would of gotten (but really, other than the debut, a 3 day early leak would do very little to a songs over-all performance outside the debut week) #2 Yes it was controversial #3 It was released while Born This Way was still getting a lot of play (sometimes it works out still, but its risky to do that) #4 Competition... That is always a risk factor... U can have 20 catchy radio friendly mainstream songs come out the same month, but there isnt room on the radio for all of them to catch on. So sometimes, even very radio friendly songs from big artists flop for no apparent reason... and born this way had a gayer chorus
BoobyFromPalestine 0
the verses are not so good lol .. but the rest is awesome
Miel 15,009
^I love Americano's lyrics, probably the best on the album. Its production is fine to me, but sometimes I feel as though everything collides. In a bad way. Bad Kids has an awesome intro, but the chorus is something else differently. Not bad, but at first that turned me off. I do NOT like the bridge. 3 points in and ready for more
FutureMetalGrunge 0
I can listen to Americano and Bad Kids fine, but I can't listen to them on repeat like all the other songs on the disk :) I don't see why fans think that this album is overproduced. I think it's wonderfully produced. You know why? It sounds like ears-x when I'm sober, but when I'm high it's like going to heaven the music is sooo good!
