It's over the top, catchy and very dancey...everything a Gaga single needs to be. And on top of that the song completely redefined Gaga's image...she really began to be seen as a role model and inspiration amongst the general public. Plus it defined the album and built a huge new fan base very quickly for her. So many people I know wouldn't go buy a Gaga album until BTW the (single) was released.
