Eurovision Asia is the Asia-Pacific version of the most spectacular television entertainment event in the world; the Eurovision Song Contest. The format is currently in development and today saw the launch of the official website EurovisionAsia.tv.

The EBU's production partners are working together to establish the Eurovision format in the Asia-Pacific region, bringing together up to 20 countries to compete in one extraordinary live annual Grand Final. Eurovision is coming to Asia!

For people beeing confused about this: its Eurovision

Which means bringing people together and live in harmonie n stuff. Otherwhise it would be called EuropeExlusive song contest.

EDIT: Thats literally what they said in one of the shows in the last couple of years. Eventhough its Euro-Television; it now has a second meaning. And yes- Eurovison wants to bring people together, their mottos are always something like: Building Bridges or some shiat.

In my personal opinon: Im happy to have more contestants and I am exited to see this show; because there are always a few songs that are good

I suppose Asiavision was already taken for Gagavision's spin-off that focuses on a french bulldog facing the adventures and adversities of every day life

Sorry, but Euro doesn't mean bringing people together. Eurolegue is not bringing people together to enjoy basketball.

Don't ask me why Israel and Australia are allowed to participate, though. Not that I mind.

Soon, Northamericavision, which is literally just
- the states of the US
- the provinces of Canada
- Puerto Rico
- one (1) random central american or carribean country chosen at random each year; thrown out if it isn't Mexico since Americans haven't heard of anything else.

due to Israel being much similar-culturally to Europe than to its neighbors, It is a member-state of the European Broadcast Union, UEFA, FIBA Europe and the Western bloc at the UN (WEOG). In addition, any EBU member is allowed to participate in the Eurovision, including Morroco, Tunisia & Lebanon, however they prefer avoiding it because of a law that says they have to broadcast all Eurovision entries, including the Israeli one.

Hmmmm, might be interesting. There were smiliar show back in the 90s, I used to watched it when I lived there, it's called Asia Bagus. It was awesome!

Then there were Asian Idol where champions from each country Idol shows compete for the crown
