Game of Thrones (Eastwatch) Thoughts? [SPOILERS]

I think it's just people introducing bias into here. The other characters you mentioned didn't have a father that was notorious for killing innocent people. Dany just coincidentally has that and that's why people have something to compare her to. Even outside the world of GOT, people can't explain the actions of a daughter without introducing her father into it. :madge:

She is not acting like her father, peopel are just afraid that she may become like him. She takes very hars decisions very lightly after all.

It's a series, they went to create you doubts...

but the people of the capital will just brand her as another mad targ, which is not what she needs nor what she stands for

she wants people to be free, not slaughtered unless they oppose her

and it all worked out so well for ellaria in the end

I didn't see people hating John for killing thousands while taking winterfell back

wat kind of reach?

Jon* killed thousands of people who stole his home from him and his family and they were soilders willing to fight

neither Jon nor Dany would be down for rampaging the entire of King's Landing and murdering the innocent civilians (which Jon even told her not to do if she hopes to ever win the war)

if dany just decided to unleash 3 dragons all over King's Landing, yes she will have the throne but she won't have any support afterwards. if Jon tried to force the north to support a girl who just melted the capital, they'd just kill him (again) for being delusional

So everyone loved Dany when she was not in Westeros. Everyone wanted her to be the queen and simply go to Westeros and kill everyone.

Now that she is there, offering people the choice between bending the knee or dying, people complain and turn against her because she has no right to the throne. Like seriously, people are a mess.

it's because she burned them alive. it's kind of a cruel way to kill someone.

of course it's cruel, it's war :ladyhaha: she wants her enemies to fear her

plus she gave them a very fair choice to join her or die :poot:

yeah but there's a history there. she did something the mad king did and he was supposedly very cruel so of course when she starts burning people alive too people are going to be watching closely

The writer of the episode:

“At least Dany offers them a choice. Every conqueror offers the choice of ‘bend the knee or die.’ These lords disobeyed her and disrespected her in rebellion against the rightful queen. Then she gives them a way out and they don’t take it. Her deal wasn’t even ‘I’ll let you live.’ They could have kept all their titles and land. So, yes, in one way, it’s a horrible death. On the other hand, they kind of asked for it. It’s a win-win situation and they somehow managed to find the ‘lose’ in that.”

🔵 - Banned because I quoted a stupid meme. Literally. So, yeah.

It's about the incessant burning. But then Cersei has more parallels with the Mad King, from wildfire to chaining a parent and child (MK did this with Ned's father and brother).

But when you think of it, she followed Tyrion's advice, and she saw two of her allies die. It would be weird if she would still keep on listening to Tyrion and follow their logic. Now it's time she listens to Ollena, for her to follow herself and be a dragon.

but they're totally fine with beheading people who leave the night's watch? :poot:

her father was insane and killed innocent people, these were her enemies who she gave a chance to join her but their pride got in their way of their common sense :rip:

at least she didn't blow up a sept :selena:

YES! People forget this is what she is. SHE'S THE DRAGON. SHE MUST TAKE WHAT IS HERS WITH FIRE AND BLOOD. It's who she is.

River

When she followed the advice of man she failed.

When she followed her woman's intuition, she did the best thing.

She had to show her power by burning them, you need to scare your enemies' army, if you want them to follow you..

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy
