Madonna got hers 3 years into her career. George Michael got his after he released his first solo album. Guns N Roses 5 years into their career.

Also, I don't think it's necessary to drag Gaga in order to prop up Pink. You're doing the same thing those other twitter stans are doing, just for a different pop star. 

Her career was already developed by 1990. This girl was on Tv shows making music and her family name was extremely popular. The very next year they changed the name of the award to the "Micheal Jackson" Vanguard award.  Not saying there's anything fishy there but let's just say Janet benefitted from her families name. Though I won't take it away from her she did live up to here family name and became a good performer.

IDK, I just don't think it's an award that's as quite as seriously thought about by MTV in the way pop forums stans think about it, you know? I think they want to nab someone big for it because it looks good for the show, but I don't think they have a checklist full of standards, or care about the actual videos by the artists. Bjork would have one by now if they did.

True Madonna received one 3 yrs into her career which really is a huge leap, but P!nk at least has been making music for 17 yrs now
